Remarks

• Herpes zoster: 12-18 years old: 800mg 5X/day x 5-7 days --- 2 to 12 years old: 20mg / kg QID x 5 days max 800mg / dose. Herpes simplex: 2 to 12 years old - For prevention of recurrences 10mg / kg TID PO ad 12 months, max 1g / day re-evaluate after 12 months.
• Be careful for patients > 65 years or those with impaired renal function.
• Patient must stay well hydrated
